1. Introduction

Welcome to Genie in a Book. These policies govern your use of our service—no hidden clauses, no legalese. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to everything laid out below.

2. Terms of Service

All content you create using Genie in a Book is yours. We provide the platform and AI tools; you’re responsible for how you use them. Don’t abuse the service—no unlawful or infringing content. If you break these rules, we’ll suspend or terminate your account without warning.

3. Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to process orders and improve the service: your name, email, shipping address, and payment details. We never sell your data. We use industry‑standard encryption (TLS) and store payment info only via Stripe—Genie in a Book never touches your raw card numbers.

4. Child Images & Ownership

You alone are responsible for any images you upload. By providing photos of children, you represent that you either own all rights to those images or have obtained explicit permission. Never upload photos of minors you are not the parent or legal guardian of. Any legal issues arising from misuse of images are your sole responsibility. (Users provide information about child photos when customizing their books)

5. Data Collection & Cookies

We use cookies strictly to keep you logged in, save your progress creating a story, and for basic analytics (e.g. page visits). You can disable cookies, but parts of the site may break.

6. Payment & Pricing

All pricing is displayed up front. We charge your card only when you confirm your order. Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout. We use Stripe for payments—any disputes or chargebacks go through them.

7. Refund & Return Policy

Because each book is custom‑made, we don’t offer refunds once printing has started. If there’s a defect or error on our part (typo, misprint, damage in transit), let us know within 7 days of delivery; we’ll replace it at no cost.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the text and images you submit. Any AI‑generated artwork is licensed to you for personal use. You may not re‑sell AI assets individually.

9. Limitation of Liability

We make no guarantees our service will be error‑free or uninterrupted. In no event will Genie in a Book be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use.

10. Governing Law

These policies are governed by the laws of Arizona, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. Any dispute must be brought in state or federal court in Maricopa County, AZ.

11. Changes to Policies

We may update these policies at any time. When we do, we’ll post the new version with a “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept them.
